In the early 1920s, prominent Perth lawyer Mr Maurice Elijah Solomon established his legal practice in Fremantle, in the state of Western Australia as M.E. Solomon & Co.In the 1960s, Mr Maurice Elijah Solomon entered into a partnership with his nephew Rupert Clifford Solomon and established M.E. & R.E. Solomon & Co.
In the late 1960s, the partnership appointed Mr William Reginald Clarke as a partner as Mr Maurice Elijah Solomon had retired and the firm became known as Solomon & Clarke. With its expanding presence in the Perth legal market, Solomon & Clarke appointed another partner Mr Robert Leslie Nelson and soon became known as Solomon Clarke & Nelson in the 1970s.
With its meteoritic rise, Solomon Clarke & Nelson merged with another prominent Perth law firm and became known as Solomon Cullen & Co in the late 1970s.
In 1981, Mr Dirk Avery (current special counsel of Avery & Ashoorian Lawyers) took the initiative to take over the firm and it soon became Solomon Avery & Co. For over 35 years, Solomon Avery & Co provided families and businesses alike with extensive legal advice and became a leader in Perth's legal community.
On 1 February 2016, Mr Ryan Ashoorian was appointed as the director of Solomon Avery & Co and renamed the practice to Avery & Ashoorian Lawyers
Ryan Ashoorian is an experienced court room advocate in both criminal and civil cases.
Ryan began his legal career junioring one of the most high profile criminal defence barristers in Western Australia. During this time, he received acquittals for all types of charges for his clients; from minor summary offences all the way to the most serious charge of murder.
In 2012, Ryan accepted a position at a busy suburban law practice representing client's in all areas of law. He used the skills acquired as a criminal defence barrister and translated these skills to representing clients in all areas of law.
His major achievement during this time was with only 6 months of experience in probate matters, he was the instructing solicitor for an inheritance dispute in the Supreme Court of Western Australia which ultimately made precedent relating to illegitimate children and intestacy in Western Australia.
In February 2016, Ryan commenced as the managing director of Avery & Ashoorian Lawyers Pty Ltd. Ryan looks forward to continuing the legacy for the last 95 by providing forward thinking and pragmatic legal advice to families and businesses alike.
